About

Disrupting the Familiar

Sisters Gina and Paula Kellogg founded Kellogg Sisters Feed & Seed with passion: for the time-honored traditions of quilting and for the desire to build connection through stories and beauty. But these two fifth-generation Kansans are anything but traditional. Their mantra is to “disrupt the familiar,” and it is the lens through which they create and curate. Each has used her art form to explore and reflect, to encourage and amuse, to honor. The sisters boldly advocate for causes ranging from environmental restoration to social justice and often use their art to focus on areas where they see the mainstream averting its gaze.

Courage and Curiosity

The artists who have gathered under the Kellogg Sisters banner all “disrupt the familiar” in their own media. Courage and curiosity are their common ideals. It takes courage to step outside well-worn paths and curiosity to find new ways ahead. In the Kellogg Sisters shop, each artist shares this journey with an invitation to step out of the world where beauty is constrained by the mainstream. In our world, beauty is disruptive and enticing; inquisitive and informative; sophisticated and playful.

Feeding and Seeding

The ‘Feed and Seed’ in our name is a nod to the past and a look towards the future. Kellogg Brothers Feed and Seed, which opened in 1921 in Wichita, Kansas, was a store where a community of farmers shared news and ways of work as they bought feed and seed. Two generations later, Gina and Paula Kellogg founded a company to feed the soul and seed connection by creating beauty and community. Now Kellogg Sisters also ‘feeds and seeds’ artists who are like-minded in “disrupting the familiar.”
